Thanks. Can someone point me to a guide that I can use (current instructions) to install Boxee. Everything I have found has been from Back in October.
and so far..you havent need too worry to much about an apple tv update haha...those those come around these woods too often these days
hi,
I am trying to install boxee on my ATV 2.3... but when I insert my patchstick the ATV runs as normal, without any sign of the penguin
I am using USB creator 1.0.b10, I followed all the instructions from online guides but it still does not seem to work, included is a screenshot of what the patchstick looks like after I just completed the USB creator process
Do I have to have boxee for mac installed on my macbook, or what else am I doing wrong?
On the left screenshot, I have my patchstick open compared to an online guide of what it SHOULD look like, and the only difference is that mine does not have "Boxee installer"
Any and all help is appreciated![]()

Thanks for the reply,
Apple's website gave the following info: The USB port on the back of the Apple TV is only used for service and diagnostics. A USB keyboard, mouse, hard drive, or any other device will not be recognized by Apple TV.
Does the USB creator software deal with this or do I have to do something before trying boxee?
Has anything been determined about the legitimacy of Boxee from a legal standpoint? I have not used the software but from what I can tell it lets you view streaming content from source such as CBS.com without all the advertisements that those providers intended you to see. That seems like circumventing their copyright.
Keeping in mind that something (or the use of something) is not automatically legal because it is open source.
