Hello!

I'm looking to get an anniversary gift for my boyfriend and he's been talking about how he wanted his "old iPod shuffle he used to have" to go on runs. He claims it had a touch screen and was, in fact, a Shuffle. He said he was able to find it online, but I don't want to ask him because I don't want to give away the surprise.

I've googled forever and the only thing I can find that's remotely similar is the iPod Nano 6th generation. Is this what he's talking about? Or was there actually a touch-shuffle?

Thanks!

No, there was never a touch Shuffle. The only thing that came close, like you said, was the 6th Gen Nano. It looked like a Shuffle, except the Nano actually had a screen and all the Shuffles have had physical buttons.

Looks like this image was from another MR user, but I found it on Google. These are all four gens of the shuffle. From top to bottom, left to right:

1st Gen
2nd Gen
3rd Gen
4th Gen.

Hope this helps!

There was never a touch shuffle. The smallest touch iPod was the 6th Gen Nano as you mentioned in OP. Some people to think it's a touch Nano due to the size although very few call it that. Most know it as the 6th Gen Nano!

Thank you so much! Definitely helps! He must just of had the name wrong, but just wanted to make sure before I bought the Nano :)
