Braided Solo Loop Charcoal vs. Midnight difference?

Apple offers the current dark braided Solo Loop as color option Midnight in their online store. Is the current Midnight color option exact the same as the old Charcoal (pure black) color?

It is very similar to the Space Grey and Midnight HomePod (mini). Midnight has a touch of blue in some lighting, while Charcoal was more of a pure anthrazite tone.

I ordered a Midnight band and returned it. In all the photos I've seen it looks more black than blue; IRL, all I see is deep Navy--def not black.

I ordered a Midnight Solo Loop and it's not black nor blue.

It is grey.
