There is a reason why some of MacBooks come with battery cycles straight out of the box.
I think it's ghosts.
Battery cycles are presumably added at the QC and battery calibration stage before they stick it on a very expensive machine.View attachment 1880353
My cycle count is already at 6, and I just opened the MBP 16 inch. Seems a bit high no? Or is it a high cycle count due to QA before it got sent for shipment.
If screen is good and no other issues, I would stick with it.I just set up my 16 in M1 Pro last night and noticed that the cycle count out of the box is 8. Is this normal? Apple believes that I bought an open box model from Best Buy even though it was on sale for 200 off haha. Should I exchange it or just stick with this one?
Just curious what you mean by if the screen is good? Is there anything in particular I should be looking out for that are specific to the 16s? I just came from apple and they ran the serial number and confirmed I’m the original owner and most likely the computer was put through extensive battery testing which I’m not sure why hahaIf screen is good and no other issues, I would stick with it.
There are very rare instances of a stuck pixel or a dust speck under the screen. I believe you would have noticed any screen imperfections already. Keep it.Just curious what you mean by if the screen is good? Is there anything in particular I should be looking out for that are specific to the 16s? I went to Best Buy and I saw the total tech member price for 16 gb ram 1 tb 16 m1 pro for 2450 and I got this 512 gb 16 gb ram for 2299. 150 more for double the storage might be a better option I guessThere are very rare instances of a stuck pixel or a dust speck under the screen. For sure! But from a buyer standpoint, the 14 and 16 in 16gb ram and 1 TB ssd being priced at 2450, the better buy would be the 16 right? 250 off as opposed to the 50 dollars off for the 14? I am definitely sold on the size of the 16 even though this will remained primarily docked when I am home. I appreciate all your input!only u can decide that for your workload
