Brand new 3GS, volume rocker not working

I just picked up a brand new 3GS and out the box all looked good, until I went to adjust the volume using the side control rocker. No response from the rocker at all. Anyone have any ideas or do I have to take it back to the store? Would love to avoid a trip back to the store!

Reboot it and see if that works. If not get a replacement.

+1 ^^^ Definitely try the reboot, call AppleCare; but it sounds like a trip to the Apple Store is unavoidable....

It's broken. Take it back, get a new one and don't stress! The 5th Ave store is 24/7.
