Hi there!

I currently have an iphone 4 jailbroken.

I wanted to upgrade to 4s but since the it already comes with ios 6, I wont be able to jailbreak it right away.

Really, I cant live without jailbreak, I can wait sure, but my concern is that there wont ever be a jailbreak for 4s ios 6.

What do you think? Is it too risky for me to get that 4s now and wait?

Or should I stick with the 4?

Yes there will be one, it's just a matter of time.

You can try eBay for a 4S on 5.1.1 or 5.0.1, or you can just hold out until the jailbreak is released.

To be honest, if you're upgrading at that point, you might as well go for the 5 since that's going to be jailbreak-able too if the 4S is.

Well, I didnt like that bending issue with the iphone 5 at all. Moreover, from what Ive read, bigger screen and a little more speed is all the iphone 5 brings really.

Also, I found this:

I wouldnt be able to wait for these issues to be corrected, this is a one time only chance for me as iphones where I live are extremely expensive. So it's a possibly defective iphone 5 or a "safe" iphone 4s.

Lol I know many people without these issues, it's far overblown. That said, it's still your choice. Don't forget you're stuck with apple maps on ANY iPhone with iOS 6, but google maps is very easy to download from the App Store.

If you buy a refurbished iPhone 4S from Apple or the 16GB iPhone 4S from Apple there is a good chance that it will have iOS 5.1.1.

Apple always installs the latest stock OS on each model. iOS 5 was stock for the 4S/iPad 3.

I wouldnt count on that.
Just because the 4S came with 5.0 it doesnt mean you will get Apple replacements with 5.0 on them.
iOS 6.0 came out in September of 2012, chances are most warranty replacements would have at least 6.0 now but you might get lucky if you find an old 4S that was sitting there for a while.

I got my iPad 3 replaced last week and it had 5.1.1. If it doesn't have iOS 5.1.1 then he can just return it for the full price no questions asked.

"cant live without jailbreak" lol...

I accidentally upgraded my jb 4s to 6.0 when I had to do a restore. My wife still has 5.1.1 on her phone. Any way to use her phone to downgrade mine back?
