Got airpods 2 with wireless charging case last friday. 3 hours after first syncing them the left airpod stopped working, and when i put them back in the case the amber light keeps flashing which means there is a pairing issue. holding the pairing button on the case even for a full few minutes never makes it go to white/pairing mode. It was just stuck in the flashing amber error mode. I waited an hour and tried again and luckily the light flashed to white and let me pair again and they worked great for the last few days.
today the left ear disconnected again, i put them back in the case and the whole cycle starts again, flashing amber. after 30 minutes it let me pair again, but there is red mark next to left ear as shown on iphone screen, i put them back in again, try to reset/pair and it wont work its still flashing amber. the right airpod cant connect to the left. before i go back to the store to exchange them for a new pair, is there anything else i should try?

I had the same thing happen to mine today! After hours of troubleshooting, I gave up and went to the apple store and they swapped my case (thinking that would work). Surprisingly, that did not solve the issue and it still won't connect to my right one. Did you happen to update to ios 12.3? I feel like there's a bug with latest update.

This happened before 12.3 as well. And eventually they worked after some time trying to reset again and again. Let’s see how long they last this time. I will go exchange at the store Friday if it happens again.

This is also happening to me. I went to the Apple Store and confirmed they could not get my left airpod to work so they ordered a left airpod to be replaced. I am hoping it will come in the next day or so.

Any update from you on how you resolved the issue?
