Hi,

I had an issue with my mac starting which I resolved by replacing the graphics card. The mac now starts without issue BUT!
In display preferences there is only one display resolution, no detect display button and if I try to calibrate the sliders have no effect

I have tried resetting PRAM and SMC with no effect and also tried a different monitor

This is a brand new Graphics card (delivered today)
*NOTE* also tried DVI and VGA cable

Does it look like the new card has issues or perhaps a firmware issue?

It sounds like the driver isn't working properly (no Quartz Extreme). Make sure you're using the version of the 5770 designed for use with a Mac.

Brand new card bought direct from Apple

thats what made me wonder about firmware
