Hello,

I just came back from buying a shiny new 21.5" iMac from the Apple store in Greenhithe. I bought it home and carefully opened it up and placed it on the table. Removed the film over the screen and the wrapping over the back... and to my horror, I saw a 3mm dent just below the glass display along the right edge.

It's a little irritating and clearly shows in some lights. Having paid just under £1000, I was expecting it to be pristine. I want to return it for another tomorrow morning, given that its been less that 24hrs and I feel let down by Apple a little.

Does anyone know if they'll take it back or claim it was my fault (I didn't bump it or anything). I'm sure this has happened before. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

welcome to the world of Apple UK.....

yes they should take it back

It sucks no? When i got my unibody macbook pro, it was beautiful when it came out of the box, but this makes me sad :(

They'll replace it without question. Sorry to hear about this -- sometimes things like this sneak through.

I took it back this morning and the manager said it wasnt a dent, but an incorrect cut from the machine - he seemed angry at apple for letting it happen. Nevertheless, he took it back and pulled a new one from the back. Got home, opened it and it was perfect!

Thanks for the replies ;)
