Hello fellow apple fans!

I am a bit of a collector of old phones and a long time iphone user, since 2010 and 3gs times.
So I recently bought some old model iphones. A white 32gb 4s, which seems absolutely brand new and unused. It has no wear marks, ios 9 and coconut battery shows only 1 battery cycle. I also bought a black 64gb iphone 5 in the same condition, as new, with ios 10. Coconut battery shows it is manufactured in 2024, which seems unlikely. The seller had no idea where they came from, he just bought them because they looked mint.

Does anybody know what is up with this kind of new, old stock or whatever phones? They work perfectly, absolutely no issues, no carrier locks. A welcome addition to the apple collection.

They're probably old phones that have been refurbished and put in reproduction boxes. Parts are dirt cheap. People are willing to pay top dollar for "new" old stock, so people satisfy that demand.

iPhone 5 63GB, what happened to 1GB? I'm thinking the manufacturing date is for the battery and not the iPhone 5 itself.

Well, at least both are updated to the latest iOS version they support, and even if they are not, you can still update/upgrade both using iTunes or Finder, and both have battery health above 90%

In itunes it shows 64gb. They were cheap, about 40 euros each. I downgraded the 4s to ios 6, for fun.
