Hello!
A week ago I dropped my iPhone 5s and the screen cracked. Today I bought an iPhone 6s. I put my ATT sim card from the 5s into the 6s, then did a restore via iTunes. The 5s was last backed up a week ago. After the restore, the phone repeatedly asked for my appleID and iTunes password. I realized I did not have the password written down or saved anywhere other than on the broken phone. I had done an apple ID reset on the go, on my phone, and I think I had saved the password as a note. I tried to reset the password for the Apple ID, only to find that the credit card number needed to verify the account was one from a year ago, which has since been replaced.
So now I am here with my new iPhone 6s, which 2 hours ago was fresh out of the box. Unfortunately, since it has been tied to my AppleID, and I do not have the password, the phone is completely unusable. It will only continue to ask me for the password for my Apple ID. I cannot restore the phone either, because Find My iPhone is supposedly turned on. I can’t turn this off unless I have the password to my iCloud/appleID account.
Is there anything I can do other than wait until the 24th, when Apple says they will contact me regarding AppleID recovery? Is there anything the Apple store can do? I have the receipt from when it was purchased quite recently. Perhaps getting the screen fixed on the 5s might be the only option, so I can get the AppleID password from the notes?
Please let me know, this is very frustrating.
