I know i read about the European guy here who got his swapped from march, I bought this in February....never used it yet.....box is open though...stores are jerks.....even though my friend took her 13.3 2.4 macbook n they exchanged hers for the new pro 2.53 with a restock fee.... and everyone said no more than 14 days yet they did hers lol

So should I call a certain dept mine was bought in store i hate the stores...or should i call apple care and tell them I have lines I want then new one and make up issues and ask them to send me the new one ??? suggestions please

An open-box system from February is not "brand new". It's a four-month-old computer that's in an open box. While it's conceivable that someone will let you exchange it, it's highly unlikely. And, since you've had it for four months and not used it, I'm not sure why you'd even care to have it replaced.

box is opened system was never even powered up even though thats irrelevent i guess....point is a guy on here exchanged a USED system same as mine I guess if you want to be technical even though i never used it lol.....so should i try for that or just call apple care and try to get a different new one that way? after reading all the heat n line issues im scared to even try it n would rather pay more to get a new one in terms of some sort of apple care exchange

Why didn't you try the damn thing four months ago when you bought it to check for lines? You knew about the issue in February when you bought it, should've checked it.

No idea why you would buy a computer, open it, never ever turn it on apparently, and then four months later without turning it on decide you want to scam Apple into giving you a new one.

Deal with it.

thats not it ....I was planning to sell it, just kinda sat there cause i had an older one I was usin I recently sold that old one, I just NOW turned it on, I THINK i have lines but IM NOT sure if this is what you guys are reffering to. its VERY thing horizontal lines all over the screen but very hard to notice unless you star it almost looks like a page didnt load right or is skipping, how do i find the screen numbers everyone talks about? given that THIS is a line issue they will still cover it right?

Ok just saw my 1.6 120gb is 09c90 and manf date is c2486d00 and manf is 610, now what does all this mean? I do see lines they are horizontal almost in a perfect pattern from top to bottom , best way to describe it is it looks like a bunch of perfect lined finger prints all over, is that the lines you all speak of here? by any chance is this display the reason I feel the ical red icon looks like such a dull red where as on my mac mini its a nicer bright red or am i being to paranoid?

Considering this has been sitting brand new under my bed since february and i just opened it n turned it on today, since i had an older one I was using that I sold last week, would they replace in store for new one or Id have to go through applecare? in either case would they just replace display or give me a whole new unit?
thanks guys

The majority of the Air's have lines. Many people have bought new Airs and got lines, then they exchanged them several times and got lines. The new Rev C's have lines. I understand that you want the new Rev C due to the price drops and faster processor but you are trying to create sort of a scam. You didn't even know you had lines and you're asking us which excuse should you use to get Apple to bend the rules on a machine that was purchased 4 months ago? All they will do for you at this time is send your Air into service for a screen replacement and you most likely will get another screen with lines.

in any case im NOT trying to get something for nothing ill pay a difference if i have to or whatever else....I am mad at nobody but myself that i didnt turn this on sooner cause i DO see the lines i need confirmation from you guys though...but jeez even if the new one has lines i dont want it lol....I really didn't think the line issue was THIS widespread ....wow iv always known apple to be a very meticulous company why are they not fixing this? I finally searched this forum and googled it and DAMN im pissed off at myself first than at apple

i would call apple care, but i don't think they'll replace it with a new one. what they'll do is they'll swap displays!
that's what they intended by mine as well, but then it turned out that the Service provider was not able to swap screens bec. he was not able to remove the battery, he could only remove the battery by damaging it. that's when aple decided to give me a replacement :D

Apple might swap the screen but for a new 2.13 I highly doubt it.

If you feel something is wrong with it bring it to apple and show them. (full brightness on white background, if you see it you see it)

Posting the same things over again in different threads won't get you anywhere.
