Brand New Macbook Freezes

I bought this Mac from Amazon a few days ago: Apple MacBook MB061LL/A 13.3" Notebook PC (2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, 1 GB RAM, 80 GB Hard Drive, 6x Combo Drive)

It keeps freezing up.

First time I was using the internet & it just froze up?

Second time I was using photo-booth & went to take a photo - I got a black screen & my computer would not do anything (no screen, but my power light was green). I had to unplug the power cord from the wall outlet & it turn it back on.

Any ideas what the problem could be?
