Hey i just switched from windows and i'm trying to get my music onto my brand new mbp (loving it so far this machine is incredible) but its not seeing my external hd that i just plugged into it. Please give me some help here.. thanks everyone

Can you give more info? What file system is the hard drive? How are you connecting it to the computer.
not sure what file system.. hooking up through usb 2.0 (does file system matter when moving from windows to mac?) sorry if thats stupid but like i said just got my mac
os x cannot write NTFS file system out of the box, but can read it. Have u tried plugging it into another port? Also, have you run all the system updates?
tried all the ports on the comp its just not showing up.. i don't want to write to it.. i want to take my music off.. i'll reformat after that... but would love some help...
