Brand new SR MBP has blown right speaker

Has anyone else experienced this? I've got an appointment at my local Apple Store tomorrow. Any chance this is something they can fix in store? My screen is perfect, and after waiting 3 weeks for this, I'd sure hate to wait another few for a replacement.

Anyone with some advice?

u'll only have to wait 1 week MAX. its possible they can do it in-store, it seems to be a part they would carry. if it was in-store, u will get it back next day. just see what they say

This might sound a bit silly, but have you checked the system preferences>audio that it hasnt moved the balance to the left?

I've had problems with quicktime/itunes for some reason shifting the balance unexpectedly all the way to the left. I almost went to take my iBook in for repair before realisign that the balance might have been shifted.

same with my powerbook...it's very strange indeed

Heh...yeah, I tried that. The left speaker is fine. But when I shift the balance to the right, the right speaker sounds awful--snap, crackle and pop!

Hopefully they can fix it in-store today.

Boy, I hope you're right. I've been chomping at the bit to play with it, and having it be perfect except for this speaker is so frustrating!
