I am brand new to iPhone. I've always had android phones up until the iPhone XS Max lured me away. So far, I am loving the decision.

I have iMessages linked to my iPad and Apple Watch. I've noticed, when I delete a message thread from my phone it does not delete it from the iPad and AW. Am I doing something wrong, or do the messages have to be deleted from each device separately?

I have them all on the same account. All the message come in to the separate devices, but when I delete a message on 1 device, it stays on the other 2. So when you delete a thread, it removes it from your other devices?

I think that it will be fixed now, with that setting turned on. I hope that you enjoy the new phone.

So far this phone is awesome. I was a long time Samsung user, and I am loving the new iPhone. It is just taking me some time to acclimate to different ways of doing things.

Just make sure you enable Find my iPhone, WiFi Calling under cellular setting and max out the camera record option. Learn new gestures and explore long press and 3D Touch or force press short cut options. Don’t close apps ever unless it shows weird glitches or apps that continuous runs in the background. Enjoy!
