Hi all,

I just got a brand new Iphone 3gs (week 50 after this boot change).
in addition I have a SIM card used as goPhone by AT&T.

till today i used an Iphone 3g with the same SIM card and it worked great
after I activated it using blackra1n.

the thing is, when Im trying to activate the new 3gs phone with blackra1n(BlackSn0w) it does not work and gets no service whats so ever.

if Im trying to search for a carrier, i find AT&T and TMOBILE, but when i press them it tells me that "network lost..."

but listen to this: when Im using my SIM card from another country i get service and it works great.

Please help me...

Thanks!!!

Im not really familiar with those terms, when im inserting the simcard into the phone it opens the at&t lock, but i cannot get service...

I guess its not working cause its a gophone, but after blackSnow its still not getting any service....

You've done something that is preventing the iPhone from working with the AT&T sim. It doesn't matter that it's a GoPhone sim, it will work in the iPhone without unlocking.

I would try restoring the iPhone in iTunes and when it completes, do not restore from a backup, set it up as a new phone. Do not use Blacksnow. Now your sim should work in the phone.

hmm, i use my iPhone 3g with an AT&T prepaid sim (from like 4 years ago) with a payasyougo plan and it doesn't work unless I unlock the iPhone.

I think the problem IS because the sim is four years old. Activate a new account using a new sim and you will be able to use it in an iPhone 3G or 3GS without unlocking.

makes sense. thanks. I think my sim actually says cingular on it.

I wonder if it would be possible to get a new sim to work with my existing account.

You mean, keep your phone number and your plan? Of course it'll work.
