".brands" approach with Internet name shake-up

I think thats a good move. Having something like .apple makes it clear ...

Somethings all those .com/.net/.whatever are not adding any value to an eMail adresse and actually are redundant.

And good is that the companies have to pay quite some money which would make sure that TLD-grabbing will be limited.

And I see dropping "www." working well, as it had been just an alias for the last decades. http://macbookpro.apple looks much nicer than http://www.macbookpro.apple, doesn't it?

A good point! Looks better without the www.
