What if the future iMacs (the highest-end ones) screens can include 90-180 degree angle options, have touch/pencil compatibility and a "switch" functionality?

When screen is set at a smaller angle with vertical (or a customized angle range), the computer runs MacOS and touch functionality is off. Basically a regular iMac.

When screen is pushed down to a larger angle away from vertical(or a customized angle range), the computer runs iOS and touch functionality is on. Then this thing will become a canvas/writing board, or in other words, a huge iPad Pro with lots of screen to work on.

I think as iOS 11 has indicated, the boundary between the iOS world and MacOS world is becoming more and more blur. Sooner or later they will be talking the same language. File system (along with lots of stuff) will pretty much be the same. Although Apple is going to insist that the two OS's won't merge, I am guessing that the two OS's can co-exist in a same machine. With a large size screen to work with, this could be possible.

Your thoughts?

The last thing I want is a touch-based iMac. I am not an artist so I have no need for such functionality and I don't want the compromises Microsoft had to do with the Surface Studio (slower mobile CPUs, less connectivity) to make it touch-compatible.

Give the iPad Pros Wacom-type capability for those who want/need to draw on an iMac. :)
