Hi I want to experament on my iPhone, but I was wondering is there ANY way I could mess it up so bad a reset in iTunes won't fix it?

Actually, it would seem you can mess it up...

Just a warning, I've seen several posts by folks on here, 10 perhaps, where they jailbroke their phone, had problems, tried to restore in iTunes, and found that the restore didn't completely restore the phone (or they couldn't restore for unknown reasons). Theoretically a restore should reset every aspect of the phone to original settings. However, these folks found that this wasn't the case for some reason. Although, these folks may have not divulged the entire story of what happened. Again, this is just a warning that there are cases I've seen where restores supposedly didn't work.

all of them are because they did something wrong... I read the pwn instructions like 15 times before I started pwning mine and didn't have an issue. (most are dead because they didn't update with 1.1.4)

well, it happened I did it fine but changed my root password...now all it does is restart every 2 seconds and itunes won't recognize it......I am pretty mad at apple for various reasons which I will not name here. Any help?

how do i put it in restore mode?.....it restarts litterally ever 2 seconds so I can't do anything.............

if all else fails I'll just go to apple store and demand a new one by ranting untill they gimme a new one just to shut up

Umm, when you installed the BSD Subsystem, it says not to change the root password.

fixed it thanks to the geniuses over at mod my iphone....btw I think the root password just can't be changed on 1.1.3 and above....I'll re-read it but if thats true....1.1.2 for me :)
