I have the blue leather loop band too and really like it also. I particularly enjoyed your comment about how nice the box is but yet it is resigned to live in the garage with the rest of your Apple boxes. I have a similar pile. I really wish the boxes weren't so customized for each type of band so that I could store a sport band in it when not being used. That would have made it much more useful.

I'm seriously considering getting the blue loop. I've heard a lot of mixed reviews about the leather loop. I don't have the luxury of going into an Apple Store to try one out because the nearest one is about 4 hrs away. Do they feel plastic or like real leather? They look fantastic but just worried about the feel of them
Sorry, I'm sure you cover this in your review I just don't have the time to read it right now. I've saved it for later

how did you get "Real Apple Nerd" on the bottom of your watch?

Thanks for the review, I too am seriously considering this band.

From your review:

"The color is a unique rich blue, I wouldn’t call it “bright” blue though. The space gray Watch and the bright blue band form a really neat color combination..."

Lol.

It's a calendar item… In order to see it you would have to put it in every day… The blue Loop was the first one I bought , it is the most striking, it is a dark navy blue to me and it works very well as a business item. Again I don't think any of the loops are plastic looking when you look at them close, it's just a different type of leather, and apple is known to do diff things.

It definitely feels closer to plastic since the leather seems to be a thin layer over the internal magnets.

Your pic here really overcooks (and misrepresents) the actual color of the blue.

Good point! I updated the photo above and the photos in the article to remove the auto color correction, so now they more closely match the actual band color.

I enjoyed reading that, thanks. I got a black Leather Loop but am going to exchange it for the Blue one. I already have a Black Sport Band so that further helps my decision.

I was debating between the black and blue loop, but thought the black loop didn't change the look enough compared to the black sport band, but the blue loop really gives the Watch an entirely different look.

I received a Stone Loop today for Fathers Day and agree with your review. In short, I REALLY like this band for the reasons you mentioned.

I have the blue LL w/42mm SGS. My take,

Pro's
-seamless integration with the adapter
-unique color that gives the perception of changing. In bright sunlight I do almost call it a "bright blue". In a bar or restaurant it look more deep blue.
-fairly comfortable
-infinitely adjustable

Con's
-price
-doesn't feel or really have a traditional leather look
-if not fitted just so, it "creeks" almost like getting a notification
-leather quality compared to established leather bands is just not there
-it has a "snug, close to skin" feel that take bit of getting use to.
-price

If it were $50-$70 I'd be very happy with it. At $150 I'm midly "ok" with it. If it were not for the built in adapters which give a unique look that 3rd party bands have yet to match, I'd return it.

I think it helps to not think of it as a leather band (there are so many amazing looking and quality leather bands out there) or the cost.

I'm glad I have it in my collection. But it is not my favorite.

You're right on with all these points. It would be nicer if the band were a little cheaper, but for now it's one of the best you can get for the money.

There has to be the qualification with that. The best you can get for the money "with built in adapters". And of course it is the best, because it is the only one. IMO that is the ONLY reason to get.

There are such amazing leather bands out there. Many links have been posted. Yes, some of the high-end and custom ones are $100ish and even more. But these are far and away better looking and higher quality. I'm not talking cheap, Chinese low cost stuff.

But if you want built in adapters...and like that particular look...well....

Anyone with the leather loop also try the classic buckle? I am trying to figure out which of the two I want, and I jumped the gun and got the classic buckle for Space Grey Sport, and now wish I had the leather loop instead.

Also, I was told by an Apple Representative that the colors for the leather loops is supposed to match their leather iPhone cases for the leather loops, and for the sports bands, they are meant to match the silicone cases.

I tried the classic buckle for a day and hated it. It felt cheap and like plastic so I returned it. It is funny how Apple brags about how they source the leather for their bands from the finest available but they feel mediocre at best. I then bought the blue leather loop thinking I may not like it either. But it feels much better in my opinion. I like that it's easily adjustable. You do have to keep the leather loop looser then you do with the sports bands because if the leather loop is tight it 'clicks'. But it's very comfortable and I am keeping the leather loop. I was pleasantly surprised although the leather does not feel wonderful - but it's comfortable enough.

T-Will, how'd you get a black digital crown on a SG Sport? Is that one of those stickers?

I think it is just the way the light hits it. In some photos mine also looks like it has a "black circle" when none is actually there.

I was wondering why it didn't look that good, then I realized it was paired with the sport version of the watch
