Brightness buttons

Hello all,

I'm using an apple keyboard, but not an apple display.

Is there any way to make the brightness buttons (F1 and F2) change the brightness of my display?

I think there's a few 'Freeware Program Brightness Controls' out there, and if you can find the codes, you can do it through the 'Terminal'

Google is a good place to start looking...

IIRC, those only change the brightness output by the graphics card - it doesn't actually change the brightness of the monitors. Consequently, it results in improper colour/contrast representation.
