Rocketing through the sky!
I swear the brightness on my macbook has gone down since I bought it. I have it cranked up full and it still looks kinda dark... Is there a way to test how bright it is?

Maybe I should bring it to a store and compare two side by side? But the problem is I have the first gen macbooks and now they are the new ones so I dunno if that is a valid comparison.

I was just in a Store last night. Even the MBPs were still Core Duo, not Core2 Duos. And I don't think the screen specs changed, anyway. Try out the comparison thing. Although, it might be too bright to easily compare. There are tools that can measure brightness, but they aren't cheap. And you'd need a baseline to compare to.

LCDs lose their brightness over time but it's not something that should be noticeable after only six months or whatever. I can tell my two year old iBook isn't as bright as my Mum's six month old iBook, even when they're not side-by-side.
