I've had this iMac for 12 hours and so far it's a sweet machine.
Anyway, I've searched these forums and googled only to come to the conclusion that it's normal for these iMacs to be absurdly bright. The question I have: is it normal for the brightness slider in Display preferences to have very little affect on the brightness? Even if I turn it all the way down it's only marginally dimmer and still much brighter than the secondary monitor I have plugged in (which is at its max brightness).
I'm just wondering if this is normal behavior for the iMac to have such a narrow brightness range. Maybe it's a characteristic of the ATI4850 driver (I've used very few ATI products and very many Nvidia)... hmmm....
Thanks
