iPad mini Bringing in my mini 4 for a battery replacement

Hi guys got a question for you what does apple do when they have to replace a battery in a ipad mini. Do they give u a refurbished model. Also what happens if they dont have it in stock in the store what do they do then. Please write back. I would appreciate it. Thanks

If you bring it in to have the battery replaced, they replace the battery in your iPad. You don't get an iPad Mini replacement for that.

They just replace the battery, did that for my mum‘s iPad Air 2 last january (Pre-pandemic, feels like ages ago). It’s the same iPad, but with a new battery, like with the iPhone.
