if by broadcast you mean send one SMS message to multiple people then no you cant.

it is a known and annoying lack of capability that i realy hope will be fixed

edit: i had to fix so many typos because i am becoming accustom to the error correction in the iphone and i'm now on my laptop. d'oh!
