I am getting stuck on a brochure design. What I am running into is I can't seem to think inline with an already approved design for the website.

We have plenty of content it's just that the design that has been approved was not designed by me and therefore I'm not really finding myself adapting to its style.

To add on more pressure, my boss walked past while I was brainstorming and saw me trying to work in http://www.istockphoto.com/stock-photo-11853944-marketing-concept.php and he loves it. Needless to say I can't really seem to fit the two together.

Basically, I'm asking if any of you have any brainstorming ideas. Or does anything immediately come to mind comparing my two references? I'm about ready to go back to pen and paper to see if anything comes to mind :(

The final piece will be an 8.5x11 Tri-fold through PrintRunner and attached it the approved website layout.

So far we have the robot part.

But where is the heart?

Where is the soul?

What... functions... does... this... robot... perform?

How... does... it... serve... humanity?

Exactly! It lacks soul! Thanks :) Frankly I think my bosses might be too concerned with their personal vision and that might be stunting the growth of the company (i.e. their target clients are simpletons). I've been arguing that even the simplest of minds can see a recognize something that looks good - we don't have make our stuff look like it's from the 90s :/

Oh well, sorry about the mini-rant. I definitely see the lack of soul and hopefully can find a solution to it. My initial thought right now is a bunch of happy businessmen in monkey suits.

Incidentally the second thought I had when I was introduced to the name (the first thought being my brain throwing up on itself) was that our mascot could be a little girl in pigtails holding a teddy bear (S-I-S as in sister), but I was immediately vetoed. It's like they're afraid of making too much money.

Here is an idea I presented (I gave them 9, this was the best one I came up with IMO). I think I'm going to steal my little people building the site and incorp them into the brochure and the website they chose... I don't know, we'll have to see if the overseers agree.
