I need a quick replacement for my iPod mini... I was just planning on getting a shuffle still they put out new iPods. Well since it seems like it will happen sooner... what is the (physical) Apple Store policy on that? If I buy it this weekend, it would be in a thirty day return policy so I can go upgrade.

You should be able to return it for a full refund if its unopened otherwise they charge you with a 10 percent re-stocking fee Im not sure if the returning period is 30 or 15 days anyone?

If the sound is distorted (tones around vocal range) you can give it a knock with the palm of your hand at the top right side, below the headphone jack

worked for me :)

Then again you could get a refurb mini as a replacement from the Apple online store.

How i broke it...

Like a retard. Two drops on tile flooring. Both because I was in a hurry to leave for wokr in the morning. First drop didn't do much, just popped out the bottom plastic.. still worked. It was a three foot drop with no case. Second drop was about a two foot with the mini in a case. Broke the click wheel. It is still usable as a backup drive though.

depends, :p if you are gonna keep dropping it, DONT get a ipod nano....heh...it won't last through all that. If you don't care about updates and your music fits on 4gb then get a nano, if you want more just step up and spend a bit more and get a 30gb ipod video :D

Shuffle

I am just going to get a shuffle as a temp replacement. I was just going to wait for the new iPods to come out and to hear about any problems till I invest in one. I don't really treat my stuff bad, I've owned the mini for awhile, and I only dropped it (twice) within the past month. I've never dropped a cell phone before, or anything else. It was an act of god telling me to upgrade seeing I have 12 gigs of (legal) music, and it grows everyday.
