During unassembly of my M4 to upgrade the SSD the cable that connects to the power button broke (as seen below). Does anyone have any recommendation on how to get a replacement cable? or has anyone seen a tear down video that shows this cable entirely taken out?

I have already tried:
- iFixIt (sent them an email since no cable part was found)

The hacky workaround I had to do to get my computer back up after SSD upgrade is ugly and leaves my computer bottom cover off which is not ideal for me for the long term.

Seems to be part of the power supply: https://support.apple.com/en-us/121006

Edit: I am likely wrong. The cable from the power supply connects to the logic board on its bottom https://support.apple.com/en-us/121005. Unfortunately Apple does not show the cable from the logic board to the button in any of the repair manuals. In the exploded view (https://support.apple.com/en-us/121008) there is one part that is not shown that may have it?! Power button board 923-11076

Ok. Now I found it. It is https://support.apple.com/en-us/120998 part of the Antenna Board. Question is, if they give you the cable if you can get your hands on it. I suspect that it is also a part that is not pictured in the exploded view, which would be Antenna connector board 923-11929 or it is part of the Antenna Plate 923-11056 itself (https://support.apple.com/en-us/121140).

Looks to be Antenna Plate. See attached picture.

The plug still seems to be in the port. Maybe you can remove it and then reinsert the two pins that pulled out of the connector? If the connector itself is damaged I would bring the unit to a repair shop that can solder the wires onto the button maybe.

Thanks, the Antenna Plate does seem to be the part I need to order from Apple to repair this according to Apple.

I'm waiting for my DigiKey order to arrive since I found the cable by itself for $1.80 each ($7 shipping). So instead of spending $30 for the antenna plate I hope I can fix this for $10 total.

Will know by this weekend.

Sounds great. If it works, you could link to the cable you purchased so others who have the same issue can pick it up too. Good luck!

Would you mind sharing the DigiKey link?

I dont have a Mini, but I have zero issues in having that external button.

Also, i can use that 100 plus bucks that the repair will cost into something else.
