I am new in this group.I am from Germany and will be in Phoenix,Mesa for 2 months.
Ive broken my iPhone 3g Display. Now its my question if its possible to repair it over there?
Does anybody know a shop to do this?
I understand you are new here so I'm not going to yell at you, but there is a search in MacRumors Forums and there is an advanced search, called MRoogle. This has been talked about many times before so a simple search may help.
Well, as a DIY you can buy the parts online from a place like Mission Repair, PDAParts or anywhere else that sells iPhone parts. You can also send it into a place like iResQ which they will fix it. I have found them to be very reasonable taking into consideration that they do the labor and provide parts. I think it is $100 for just the glass and touch panel (Digitizer) and $200 for the whole front assembly, i.e. Digitizer and LCD Display. You will need a new front assembly if the screen looks messed up, other than the glass being broken. If you are going to be in Phoenix, you can take it to the Biltmore Apple Store. They are going to charge you a pretty hefty fee though. I would go with iResQ. They won't break your device whereas you risk that with a DIY. It is also, surprisingly, not cheaper, in some cases, to go with a DIY.
