I purchased a new iPhone XS Max and restored my iPhone from a iCloud backup when setting it up. Ever since then, Do Not Disturb While Driving has been broken.

It doesn’t come on when I start driving my car, and if I try to manually turn it on through command center, it turns itself off.

Has anyone had this problem or know of a resolution? iOS 12.01 and 12.1 did not fix the problem.

I didn’t have this problem with my old 8 Plus on iOS 12.

It is possible your backup may have corrupted data. Did you test it when the device was restored before the backup?

No I did not. I wasn’t expecting this to be an issue.

Try to put your device into recovery mode and "Update" using iTunes. It will download the full IPSW and overwrite system files while retaining your data. Backup in case before attempting.

Unfortunately I followed the steps and "updated" the phone as described in the article and the issue persists.

I actually hate this feature. If you’re driving you should know better not to use your phone.

And this helps and can notify someone else that might be trying to contact you that you are driving and will get back to them later.

And that's fine that that's how it works for you. Others can prefer an automatic reply be sent if that is what they choose to go with. Seems like it can only help when it comes to having more people not use their devices more often.

Only way around this was to start fresh in case anyone runs into this issue in the future.
