My home button recently stopped working and have heard about jailbreak apps that can serve as a soft home button. What are my jailbreak options without a working home button?

I have a 16gb 3G, never jailbroken before. I tried to jailbreak with Blackra1n but got stuck on the connect phone to iTunes screen. Had to wait for the phone to die before I could recharge it and then restore to 3.1.2

Any ideas?

Kirikae lets you access all running processes, including Springboard. You can launch it by holding down the power btn, and then select Springboard.

there's a sbsettings close button widget. never used it but i hear it works. and now with blackra1n you don't need to use the home button to jb so you should be good to go.

mQuickDo might be another option. I used it once, but didn't really need all of the features. It uses gestures which you can set to your preference. I think it's a 3 day trial, and I'm not sure how much it cost.
