My iMac broke and I need the files on my hard drive. The iMac is not worth fixing and I am getting a Macbook Pro, so how can I get the contents off my hard drive of my iMac and get them onto my Macbook Pro the easiest?

Target Disk Mode won't work because my broken iMac won't turn on.

My iMac is ~6 years old so which enclosure would I have to purchase (can someone give me a link, please?) to hook my old hard drive to my new macbook pro?

thanks! :D

I'm pretty sure it's SATA so you need e.g. this. If you told me is it G4 or G5, I could be sure
