Ok I usually dont post very much but I read the forums everyday. (I'm pathetic. I know) Well I damaged my 1.5 12" pb by cracking the lcd and the bottom casing is bent too. The lcd crack is on the very bottom right corner and is only inch wide and about four inches up. It works perfectly but I can't see anything on that bottom right corner and the casing is bent where the dvd drive is and a dvd is stuck in the drive, but it reads the dvd.
So basically I have the money right now for a few options

1.mbp 1.83 and possibly a intel mac mini down the line or

2. 17" intel imac and maybe an ibook (macbook) in April. or

3. I can just repair my pb and just wait to see what comes out. possibly$700 for repair

I looked at powerbookrestore.com and the screen replacement is about $500 and that's not fixing the casing. In case this helps I am a graphic design major and school starts next week and I have a 20" dell monitor and that's why I was thinking mbp. Sorry for such a long post, but I am completely lost.

I'd personally go for option 2. Same power as the top of the line MacBookPro but hugely cheaper, max out the ram.

Then get a nice ibook at the end of spring/ start of summer...

You can then use your iMac with your Dell monitor alongside you ibook.

I'd agree unless you need a powerful on the go laptop. The new iMacs have DVI out so they will run your 20" beautifally and you'll get all the benefits of dual screen. Unless of course you don't have the room for dual screen. Plus the iMac is more powerful for the price.

I'd love a MBP because i want WOW to run well but hopefully the new iBooks will have a graphics card that will do it some justice.
