hi all,
as this is my first post, hope this is the right section
I just got my first iMac 2019. I upgraded to 40GB of ram from 8GB which was like using a netbook with Atom CPU few years ago - abysmal performance and horrible experience. Glad that's over!
After this success I wanted to upgrade the fusion drive for an SSD but managed to crack my display (coz I'm a muppet). Since I have AppleCare, I can get it fixed for a small fee of $149AUD but I'm wondering whether I should replace the SSD before or do it after? Doing it before would give me a chance and option to screw it up and not worry as doing it after will be quite stressful and I don't want to break it again. Also I'm not sure how Apple service looks at an upgrade like that - would I void my warranty and if so, is it better doing afterwards?
Hope someone has an experience and can advise, I didn't get lucky on Google looking for someone with similar muppet hands advertising their 'success' :]
thanks!
