Is it better to use a website app to browse its website or just use Safari?

Examples include youtube, cnn, usatoday, foxnews, cnet, etc. They have their own apps in the app store.

iPad being used is the iPad Pro 9.7" 2016 version.

2 Reasons for asking:
1. Previously owned iPad 3 and it was slow on some websites, corresponding apps were much faster. But this does not seem to be as much of a problem on the newer device.
2. Perhaps websites are designed for computers, not tablets, and therefore apps are better optimized for the iPad.

I make this decision according to how often I browse a particular site and what features are offered in the app. For YouTube, I use the app. For banking sites I also use the apps. For regular news sites, I go to the website or just use the Apple news app.

Apps might be just wrappers for an in-app browser if the company has been lazy. Otherwise they may be a more tablet tailored experience so it's a case by case thing.

Mostly the apps. However, YouTube has blocked so many videos on it's app so you'll only be able find them through a browser.
