I have a 24" Aluminum Imac and recently Firefox has been freezing quite frequently. It got so bad I reverted to using Safari as my main browser, and while that seemed to be fine for awhile it is now doing the same thing. It seemed to be random before but now certain sites trigger the freeze. I was wondering if anyone was having the same problem or knew what to do to fix this. Thanks for any help.

Try posting some of the links that are freezing for you.

Maybe it's javascript or Flash related.

You might also try deleting the cookies from the sites that are giving you trouble and see if that helps.

I am using the camino browser and I think it's even better than firefox or safari. Actually I have 4 browsers including flock, but I like camino the best. Hasn't crashed on me yet.

As of yesterday, I just started to have the same problem too. It happens with Firefox, Safari, and Camino. Certain pages like ESPN and YouTube freeze immediately when navigating to them. I've tried repairing hard drive permissions and clearing caches to no avail so far.

Duhnick yes Espn.com will not load on any browser for me as well as appleinsider and youtube. I dont know what to do I have been trying everything I can think of its getting really bad cause more and more sites are starting to freeze.

iMac freezes

Midlane,
Did the last post help resolve you isolating the problem? I am also having the same issue but it does not seem site related. Does not matter what browser. Seems more heat related as it get's worse the longer I have the computer on. Recently it is almost at the point of being useless and sometimes freezes for 3 or more minutes and I have to shut it off. It may be USB related but I have eliminated all devices and still it does it randomly. Could work several days and then goes spastic. I am ready to send to Apple as it was just purchased before Christmas.
