M1 Mini using Firefox. Whenever I try the back button it seems to want to go 2 pages back. This happens a lot and is driving me mad. Mouse settings to slower click speed doesn't change anything. Neither does a different mouse, at least non apple mouse. Same thing when selecting stuff, it will select and then deselect as if using mouse 2x.

Anyone else have this issue. Is it my browser or the Mac M1? Thanks

M1 here also using FireFox but without any of those issues. Either clicking the back button or swiping left on my Magic Mouse (or trackpad) only takes me back one page and clicking with the mouse/trackpad only registers once. Is the "select then deselect" issue also only happening in FireFox, or is that system-wide? If only in FireFox, then perhaps try refreshing FireFox:

Click the 3-bar menu icon at top right, then go to Help > More Troubleshooting Information > Refresh Firefox...

Has this been an issue from day 1 with your M1 Mac and FireFox, or did it used to work fine?

I'm also suddenly having this problem on my M1 Mini.

Worked peachy keen since I've had it, but now I'm getting double clicks all over the place. Hadn't used it in a week or two (what with the holidays) and when I woke it this morning I had a crash/reboot alert. Now I'm getting tons of fake double clicks, plus the text selector is super wacky. For me it's really annoying in Safari and Outlook.

Rebooted and it didn't help, but I did notice that a new version of Monterey has released and I haven't updated, so I'm going to do that and see if it solves the problem.

OP here. I use Monterey and it fixed it for about an hour. Then right back to the issues. It's been doing this for a while, but only now and then. Now it's really bad.

Also does this in Calculator and Pages. Select a number using the mouse in calculator and double numbers may show. Selecting menu items in Pages like file, save may double click opening and closing the item.

I use a USB mouse but was using a Logitech wireless and have the same issue. All left click, right click works fine.

So strange. Had my M1 MBA since April and have yet to experience this. I'm currently on macOS 12.1

Definitely a system issue then, not Firefox. I've used both a basic wired mouse and Magic Mouse 2 with my M1 MBA without experiencing this in either Big Sur or Monterrey. Does the issue temporarily go away if you reboot?

I might have to buy a Apple mouse to try. Unless someone reports the issue with an Apple mouse.

I shut it down last night. So far today it's it's working OK. Let's see for how long.

Edit, acting up again.

Knock on wood, mine seems to have resolved itself. For me at least, seems the 12.1 Monterrey update solved things?
