so my iPhone just blue screened while installing cydia and rebooting. is this a normal thing with pangu8? or is there a problem with my iPhone/firmware?

Did you start with a clean restore of the firmware on your device - as that is what is recommended (but not usually required)
Also recommended to turn off lockscreen code and put device in airplane mode.

Well i restored in dfu again and set up as new. My phone kept crashing and it was very unstable. I'm going to wait until the jailbreak is smoother. It still seems too rough to use to me.
