BTO mac Pros in Apple Stores

Got this off digg. According to the guy who posted, his apple store can perform BTO like HD's, A&B. But other comments say theirs cannot.

WHen I bought my PowerMac there a couple years ago, I purchased more RAM (I know Apple RAM is expensive, but with my student discount, the prices were more in line with competition) and they offered to install it. I guess that's BTO-ish

You pay a tremendous premium having Apple add basics like RAM or extra Hard Drives.

You'll save considerably buying those options 3rd party.

I don't think you'll find any Apple Store carrying that upgrade in stock.

You're looking at roughly 5 weeks production and shipping delay if you
order the ATI X1900 card.

It is THE card to get if your work demands superior GPU performance,
but get in line..........

It's the hot card to get, so you're stuck waiting if you want it BTO.
