Hi

There seems to be a bug in iOS 14.5.1 (or before).
New apps and also existing apps which I did not gave the permission to access my photo albums can access all pictures.
New apps are not even asking whether to can have access, they just get full access.

Anyone else with the same issue ?

Unfortunately its different. I just tried with an app which does not have access at all to select a picture and use it as my profile picture. It works. No question about access to photos coming up....

Which app?

Which app?
For example with Revolut (a banking app). I can change my profile picture without giving access to my photos. I also tried with another app called Reface. It did not even ask.
But interestingly some apps could not get access to photos when they are blocked (which should be normal case)

Clearly you didn’t even watch the video above, because this is exactly what it explains.

I just tried with Revolut, the profile picture uses the picture picker as described in the video (it’s even exactly the same UI)

Not a bug, lemimouth is correct it's using the picture picker.
Ok thanks, I just saw they video now. I was not aware of this function before and was just concerned apps can access photos without my approval. Thanks again
