I’ve been having a nasty bug since Beta 1 - Occasionally, when I take/screenshot/save a photo or video, it ends up being duplicated thousands of times and my phone gets incredibly hot and the battery drains crazy quickly.

It’s very annoying, but I absolutely understand bugs are part of the deal with betas and was prepared for stuff like this. The only reason I’m mentioning it is I can’t seem to find a single other soul who’s having this issue.

Has anyone experienced this? Do you have any ideas on why it might be happening? I’m going to just wait it out but would love to know I’m not the only one

Bugs are weird. Sometimes they affect a lot of people and sometimes just one or a relative few. The key is to report it to Apple so they are aware of it. It may be something unique to your device or your set up, which is why its important to report so Apple can figure out what’s going on.

Any apps on your phone with access to Photos like Google Photos or OneDrive or such? Just a hunch: but maybe a background upload task or an editor could be creating a temp photo and then the Photos app is adding it to the library again and it's stuck in a loop. I would delete any other apps that have access to Photos, see if the issue stops, and then just start re-adding them one by one to see if the problem comes back.

That’s a really good thought! I don’t have any backup apps like Google photos or OneDrive but I have a few editors - I revoked access to photos on all apps that used it, we’ll see what happens

Update: That wasn’t the issue unfortunately. Thought I’d give you some more info in case you have any other ideas while I wait for a fix - I’ve noticed that sometimes photos don’t end up saving once I’ve taken them, and when I try to select recently taken photos to send in messages, the loading circle comes up but doesn’t move, as if it needs to download from iCloud but can’t (even though in most instances, I’ve JUST taken the photo). Also, my photos syncing have been stuck restoring for a week (at like 20%)

Absolutely. I submitted a bug report week 1, and I just looked and it says there are 10+ similar reports, so at least I know I’m not the only one! Thanks for the advice!
