I bought a Kuxiu iPad stand early December. The iPad fixes with magnets to the stand, the three terminals on the rear of the iPad line up with three in the plate on the stand. On the back is a distribution box for power. Plug into a normal PSU and the stand keeps the iPad charged. I was running the beta version of 18.2 with all relevant updates up to the release of beta 18.3. The stand worked with no problem. When beta 18.3 was released the iPad no longer accepted it was attached to a charger and charging stopped. Reverting back to the issued version of 18.2 and all works again. There is clearly an issue in 18.3 that is stopping the iPad from recognising this particular accessory that has crept in with the lat3st beta update. I have reported it to Apple but thought it worth mentioning here in the hope Apple may also see it!

It was a pain putting 18.2 back! I had to do a complete wipe, reconfigure and then add in all the apps I had before. At least it has been cleaned up! I had no pre beta backup to use.

The stand by the way is excellent.

I'm in the same boat (M4 iPad Pro 13"), but have chosen not to downgrade with the hope this is resolved with a future update to the Developer's Beta.

I've read that Apple hasn't officially supported third party accessories charging through the rear pins (with the exception of Logitech). Do we know if KUXIU was using some sort of workaround to make this happen? I agree they make a great product, would be a shame if Apple killed this functionality intentionally.

I don’t think they had a work around. It certainly worked before the latest update to beta 18.30. I have had other third party devices working through the “pins.” I think it was a Logitech keyboard. As it worked with themprevious beta hopefully they can rectify. For the present I am retaining the released version on my iPad Pro now, not going through all that hassle again, plus it has cleaned it up!, as I use this most but I have another older iPad on which I can retain use of the beta version.

Just noticed this myself! Thankful to have this functionality restored. I have two of their charging stands and use them daily :).

I am running the released version of 18.3 and no problems with the stand. I use an ESR case and have suggested that they put three holes in the back that line up with the contacts on the stand and other devices and put a metal pin in the holes. This ought to let you put the iPad with the case on, on the stand and it charges through the case. I have a spar case and drilled three such holes but need to make a metal pin to glue in to see if it works. I think I can do it by using a small piece of wire cut from a 12v cable. Will try and report back.
