hi there,
I am planning to build in an external display switch into my intel-imac 24 (the white one).
if I am watching a movie (via imac) on my external tv-panel it really annoys me, that I can´t switch of just the imac display and besides I think a big display like this consumes lots of energy.
for opening I was thinking to use this tutorial:
http://home.comcast.net/~woojo/DFFA53A0-F23D-4541-9015-481FD3B6532E/iMac_Disassembly.html
my questions:
1. did any of you guys already build in such a switch or has any experiences with it?
2. is it easy to find the power-cables to the display inside the mac, or does anybody happen to have a tutorial/foto of them?
3. I was planning to put an ordinary on/off-switch inbetween the display-power-cable.- can this be done, or do I need a special switch so the display won´t be harmed?
many thnx in advance for any help!!
