I have the 16gig 3g phone, my wife has the 8gig version. I noticed first on my phone and later checked with hers, that the great majority of the speaker sound/volume projects from the speaker hole to the left of the home button (on the bottom of the phone when looking at the screen side of the phone).

When my hand accidently covers this one speaker it is like the phone is on mute. But when my hand covers the other speaker I don't even notice a change in the audio.

I thought my speakers was blown, but my wife's phone perfformed exactly the same.

Anyone else notice that the volume is off between their two speakers? Or should I take my phone in for a repair?

Not another one.

There is only one speaker at the bottom. The other side has a microphone. This may explain why covering it up has little effect.
