can anyone tell me if the built in camera on the new imac is capable of capturing video? can this only be done in ichat? i figured out how to take pictures using photo booth but i figured there must be a way to use this camera as a webcam without video conferencing or chatting. any suggestions?

thanks

You can do it directly in iMovie. Just set the source switch to iSight.

Photo Booth

Hi there,

You can capture video straight through PhotoBooth. My Mac is currently off, but there is a switch in the application to capture video.

About the chat clients, MSN does not allow iSight to work. I dont know about Yahoo! but i do know that skype does allow you to use your built in iSight as a webcam. Of course there is always iChat!

yeah, you can record in photobooth, where the three tabs are on the bottom left, the one all the way to the right is for video recording
