i travel a lot and enter my flight information into the built in iphone calendar app. most flight times may depart at odd times like say 7:53pm but the calendar app only allows me to input it as 7:50 or 7:55... they should make the time field editable so that you can type in the exact time vs having to scroll up or down. it may not really be a big deal, but other calendar apps i've used on mobile devices was able to be accurate in the times you enter.

Because you plan on arriving at the gate at 7:52 pm, right? God forbid you set the flight time in the calender for 7:00 pm and mistakenly show up at 6:59 pm only to learn that you have wasted 3 precious minutes. Or worse, you set it for 7:55 pm and arrive at 7:54 pm just to realize that you have missed your flight all together!
I use OmniFocus which allows you to set due dates for tasks by the minute (also by scroll wheel), and I have to say that it is a real pain in the ass. Five minute intervals are much faster, I'd probably even prefer 15 minute intervals. The only validity I see in your argument is that perhaps a time interval option should be added to the calender app settings, or maybe an option to use wheels or direct keyboard entry.

Who exactly are you to be blasting somebody because of their preferences? The original poster just wants to know exactly what the situation is, down to the minute, there's nothing wrong with that. People like what they like, live with it.

geez. perhaps they should make all flights with departure and arrival times exactly on the 0's and 5's... i just want it to be able to enter the exact time that i made my reservations for. at least let me have the option to text enter the time. its just a gripe.

I have a few gripes with the iPhone's Calender App as well. That wasn't one of them, but I can see how that would be annoying.
I don't like that you cannot edit the calender type after you've saved an event.
For example: You enter a new event onto iCal on your iPhone and accidentally categorize it as a 'Home' calender event. However, you meant it to be a 'Work' event. After the event is entered in and saved, you cannot edit the calender type- it is stuck as a 'Home' event unless you delete and reenter the event, or unless you wait until you sync with your computer and then edit it in iCal.
Now that is annoying.
You plan on arriving at the airport at least an hour early, so what does a 3 minute time differential matter? Seriously the most pointless thing I have ever heard. It's like when someone asks you the time and you say, "It's 8:59 and 19 seconds" instead of "It's 9 o'clock".
Plus he posted this in the App store forum which has NOTHING to do with the calender app.
Finally, I *did* mention how this does bring up a point that perhaps the time entry should be an option in the calender settings.
Yeah, some aspects of the built-in calendar are annoying. Which explains why I'm patiently awaiting Pocket Informant! If anyone can play clean up nicely, it's these folks.

I wish you could change the calendar type, as well as having a week view.

God, I can't believe the freaking review someone put there with one star saying he'll try it if it's cheaper. I clicked not helpful 5 times and reported it.
