Early this month, I re-read Ryder Carroll's The Bullet Journal Method.

I have been applying it almost 100% for a while now (analog), but still gained some deep knowledge.
During the past week, I finally got to play with Apple's Shortcuts app and found that most interesting as well.

So I connected some dots, and as a way of practicing and having fun, I built a digital Bullet Journal system within Apple Notes.
Of course, I threw in a few (rather simple ;-) shortcuts to smoothen the process.

To be honest, I'm quite happy with the result and just wanted to share it HERE.

You're welcome to comment, feedback... in the Youtube Comments section or right here on the forum.
Thanks and enjoy !

I found your Bullet Journal in Apple Notes very interesting. Have you published your shortcuts?

Thank you so much for your positive feedback, magtheag - I highly appreciate it.
Just let me know if you'd like to have my shortcuts, and I can upload them somewhere.

This being my first time sharing shortcuts, I hope I did everything correctly (including some translation to English).
Remember you'll need to prepare a few minor things in the affected apps:

1. Apple Notes

You will need a folder named "Bullet Journal" in the main Notes directory.
Inside this folder, you will need a subfolder named "Day Log".
You can rename both, but you'll need to change the shortcuts accordingly.
Optionally, you can create a "menu" like I did at the top of all the notes. Actually, these are hyperlinks to the different parts in the Notes list - to make navigating faster and more elegant.
See screenshot attached.

2. Apple Calendar

You will need a calendar named "bujo".
You can rename it, but you'll need to change the shortcut accordingly.
You should not delete this calendar, since that will stop the shortcut from running.

3. Apple Reminders

The shortcut will use a tag named "bujo".
You can rename it, but you'll need to change the shortcut accordingly.
You can delete the tag, but it will reappear next time you run the script.

Hopefully all of the above is clear enough - if not, don't hesitate to ask for more explanation.
I'll be happy to help you out to the best of my abilities.

This looks really helpful. Unfortunately the links aren’t working any more. Is there someone where else I can go for them?

Many thanks for showing interest !
Due to circumstances, I had to delete my former Google account where these resources were housed.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

You're welcome to download both the shortcuts and a pdf with the brief description of my system. I can't find the video anymore, but it wasn't that thorough anyway and didn't have audio either. Let me know if you need further assistance.

In the meantime, enjoy !

Hi, @GerritV

I really interested about your idea of bujo in apple note / calendar / reminders combined with shortcuts

Sadly all your links are dead

Do you still use this system ?

Could you make a new upload?

Hi Jim,
Thanks for showing interest in my Apple Notes BUJO concept.
Sorry for the dead links.
I've switched to analog in the meantime, but I may still have some files from 2022.
Please allow me a few days to check it out, and eventually rebuild it.
To be continued...

I already use Apple note reminder and calendar, for my personal and professional organization

I’m looking to improve my workflow

Using the app Shortcuts Seems to be very interesting

Feel free to download the BUJO.zip file with the link below.
Inside you'll find:
- the screencast "Bujo Apple Notes.mp4". A number of images are missing, but hopefully it will clear enough without.
- the brief manual "Bullet Journal in Apple Notes".
- Four .shortcut files. Hopefully they still work in macOS Sonoma.

If anything is unclear, don't hesitate to ask. Enjoy !
