Bummer... no new macbook

MacBook's might see a refresh in October with Leopard - but remember, the MacBook's are the entry level laptops - the MacBook Pro's are, well the Pro edition. So in saying that, don't expect Santa Rosa to appear on the MacBook anytime soon - for its purpose the MacBook is perfectly fine with the pre-SR Core 2 Duo.
LED backlit MacBook's would be an added bonus; but not needed at present. MacBook's are fine for their purpose and don't need an upgrade for a while.

I don't think that the GMA950 will handle Core Animation very well. Unless it's compatible with OpenGL 1.4

I would love to see a new macbook come out that would have a great video card like the MBP , running OS leopard, and a LED backlight, but I guess those are just wishes. What do u guys think about this as a combination for a " future" macbook ?

Yes. You are right.
As i can see the leopard full 3d desktop with real-time shadow, i don't think a macbook with a suck GMA950 can handle fine.
Next, the powerful new effect in iLife08 and iWork08, some effect is now becoming very graphic intensive instead of processing intensive. I really don't think GMA950 can handle smoothly and satisfactory.
Hope Apple will update macbook with a much more modern display instead of outdate outdate outdate GMA950 ! I think if apple do so, many people will buy macbook too and it can raise profit and have a bigger laptop market share ^^
But i think to make a different between macbook and macbook pro, apple can do below :
Macbook keep plastic design look, but get rid of the sucking GMA. This makes many people have doubtful buying it.
Macbook pro keep using the high end aluminium just as the same now. But with a better display card and some advance extra function.
Intel X3100 GMA is around 7X% better than GMA950. Everyone would have no doubt to buy macbook if apple make X3100 into macbook.
I absolutely think GMA950 is too weak to handle upcoming leopard 3D with real-time shadow desktop and the iWork08 and iLife08. Even it can run, it may not be smoothly. I don't want to use a US$10XX to buy a GMA950 macbook. I would buy it if it can have option with built-in X3100 GMA or else.
Tell my experience, when i using the 3d mode in iTune, i can see it is not running smoothly with some delays. I think it is somehow using some of the power of display card. But GMA950 is too weak...too weak.
Hope Apple upgrade macbook soon with better display card, a built - X3100 is already making all of us smiling.

I read somewhere that along with Leopard, apple will be giving the MacBooks a LED screen, and most likely SR Chip Set, of course I am not sure if this is true.

SR chip set probably will combine intel GMA X3100 !!!!! cheer up
i don't mind if it is led or not. But i mind if it is using GMA950.
An improved GMA would make sense for the next MacBook update. I don't see it getting a dedicated graphics card, otherwise I think that hurts sales of the MBP.
