I'm trying to decide between BootCamp and Parallels. I was just told in another forum that you cannot burn a Cd while in Parallels.

Is this true? Is there a workaround?

I had almost decided for Parallels, mainly just because you get switch between OSX and Windows whitout have to reboot, but not being able to burn a CD would be a big issue.

TIA

I don't think you can, but why would that be an issue? You can just switch back to OS X and burn whatever you need to...

Well, it would be an issue if there was no way to burn a CD with the work you did while running Windows...that is very obvious right?

If you can move your files to OSX and burn them from there (in any such methodology that the end product is a CD with your work in it), then it is not an issue anymore... unless, of course, the process was just too ackward, time consuming, etc.

But we can put this issue to rest because a Parallels user just informed me that there is a "Join" folder that exists on both environments. Dragging items on the one side gives access from the other.

Good day.

If you go to "My Network Places" you'll find a shared folder that is actually a folder in Mac OS X. If there isn't one, then set one up.

What use would a virtual machine be if you couldn't transfer files, etc?
